Who we are as a family…
My husband Rex and I (Kimberly), and our three children Ashlynn, Maddison, and Koltten are all an active part of Shabbey Sheek Bernedoodles. Ashlynn is our oldest, a recent college graduate from West Texas A&M, pursuing a master’s at University of North Texas and has a heart and passion for children on the Autism Spectrum. Her best fur-iend is Cookie from our second litter, The Lucky Bunch. Cookie will be the momma to our first litter of minis! Our middle daughter, Maddison attends college at East Texas Baptist University where she plays volleyball. Her involvement is more limited. The youngest, our son Koltten, is the owner of Tobbey, our stud male, and is the most involved in the day-to-day activities with the puppies. He is a wonderful help to me from birth to GoHome Day! Rex proudly served 20 years in the USAF, is a veteran having served 2 tours in Desert Storm, and now works from home for a utility services company. He is able to lend an extra hand when needed. My mom, Peobble, has always been a great helping hand to me! Recently, she adopted a Blue Merle Tricolor Bernedoodle, Minggo, who will eventually be one of our future fabulous Mama’s!! And I am Kimberly, the main puppy wrangler/dog mom of the bunch. This is now my full-time job and I love everything about it!! Well except the puppy poop. We ALL adore loving on these precious babies as much as possible while they are with us.
Why we do this…
As our own children are growing up and leaving the nest, we have found a love for breeding and raising these special dogs for special families. We have had dogs all our lives. In 2019, with the passing of our black lab, we were ready for dogs that shed less. We were originally looking for a Goldendoodle or Labradoodle when I found the Bernedoodle and loved how beautiful the breed looked. We quickly fell in love with their joyful personality and decided we wanted to share them with more families. As we expand, we also desire to focus on breeding pups with temperaments that make them well suited to work as therapy and service dogs. We believe that if God has led you to us, we have the perfect pup for your family.
What makes us different…
First and foremost, we are not a “backyard breeder”. We take great pride in our program.
Our breeding program is a family affair. Our dogs are a part of our family, and we treat the puppies like our own from the moment they are born. We have even remodeled a living area in our home dedicated to the dogs, with their own couch and puppy pictures on the walls! We love to stay in touch with all our puppy families to watch the pups grow for years to come.
We plan to keep our program small and use carefully selected guardian homes for some of our Dams and Sires to ensure they are always well cared for and get lots of love from great families all throughout their lives.
